Enrique Hernandez is patiently waiting for his 2020 Los Angeles Dodgers World Series ring.

After the 2020 Los Angeles Dodgers received their World Series rings earlier in the week, utility man Enrique Hernandez is still waiting to get his.

Hernandez had spent the bulk of his big league career with the Boys in Blue before signing a two-year deal to join the American League’s Boston Red Sox in his free agency. Though never the star of the team, Hernandez was there every step of the way during the Dodgers’ long overdue World Series triumph. Because the Red Sox do not play the Dodgers this year, he is going to have to wait.

This is a rare downside to getting paid by a club in baseball’s other league, but Hernandez made light of it with an amusing photo he posted on Facebook.

Los Angeles Dodgers: When will Enrique Hernandez get his World Series ring?

Because he was part of the championship team, Hernandez will get his ring sooner rather than later. It is not going to take three years for him to get it in front of a packed house at Dodger Stadium when Los Angeles hosts the Red Sox. If there’s any downtime when the Red Sox make their annual trip to Anaheim to play the Los Angeles Angels, maybe it happens then?

Surely, the Dodgers organization is going to figure out a cool way to get Hernandez his World Series ring he rightfully earned. Well-run organizations like the Dodgers will find a way to reward one of their own for being such an integral part of their team for so long. He did play six seasons in Dodger Blue from 2015-20. Ultimately, they will get Hernandez his ring one way or another.

In the meantime, Hernandez will continue to play for the Red Sox without his World Series ring.
