Rougned Odor’s bat drop belongs in the Louvre somewhere, as well as the baseball if they ever find it.
Odor is looking more like a savvy Brian Cashman acquisition by the day, as he made his way to the Bronx for some spare parts and a soda machine, or some version of that story. While he struggled early on in his time in Pinstripes, Odor is three of his last four with a home run and four RBIs. That bomb occurred in Friday’s game against the Cleveland Indians, when Odor ignited the Yanks’ offense courtesy of this beautiful bomb.
The home run was fine, but the bat flip made the highlight.
Shortly thereafter, Giancarlo Stanton sent a laser into the seats to give New York a lead over the Indians. Whether that lasts is another question entirely.
If the Yankees are back, the American League should be put on notice
As incapable as the Yankees’ lineup looked to start the season, they can heat up just as quickly. We’re only twenty games into the season, making a quick turnaround all the more realistic for a Yankees’ team loaded with talent.
Should the likes of Stanton, DJ LeMahieu and Aaron Judge hit to their potential (one could argue they have at times this year already), then the Yankees have the other pieces in place to make a quick run to the top of the AL East. Of course, one offensive outburst isn’t enough to convince most pundits, let alone any baseball fans in the Bronx.
