MLB fans saw yet another no-hitter in 2021 as Orioles ace John Means shutdown the Mariners lineup Wednesday afternoon.

The Baltimore Orioles are one of the biggest surprises in MLB so far in 2021. O’s ace John Means is up there in terms of surprises as well.

He took it to a whole new level Wednesday afternoon by tossing a no-hitter out in Seattle. The only runner he allowed came via a dropped-third strike, meaning he just missed a perfect game. But the celebration was on regardless and Twitter reacted with joy.

MLB Twitter reacts to the John Means no-hitter

This is already the third no-hitter in 2021 and arguably the most surprising.

The 28-year-old Means made his MLB debut in 2018 and was an All-Star the following season. Now he will forever be etched in Orioles history for his miraculous game.

Technically, Means did only face 27 batters because the one who reached base was caught stealing. But rules are rules and that is why a perfect game is so hard to achieve.

The Orioles are no 15-16 on the season and Means looks like a legitimate ace. His ERA is down to 1.37 and his own personal record is now at 4-0.

Meanwhile, the Mariners are still in second place in the American League West. So it is not like this the culmination of a terrible stretch of baseball. Means just had Seattle’s number and is dominating opposing hitters in general.
