Good news has arrived for the Chicago White Sox, as superstar outfielder Eloy Jimenez will return to the team to take on the Kansas City Royals.
The long wait is finally over for star White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez. Folks haven’t forgotten about him suffering the serious pectoral injury in a spring game trying to rob a homer. He went down in a tremendous amount of pain and was on the ground for a while.
Jimenez has been working overtime to get himself back healthy in his rehab and now he’s ready to grab a bat again. On Sunday, skipper Tony La Russa came out and said that Jimenez will be joining the team in Kansas City for their series against the Royals. That’s right, Jimenez is back.
Eloy Jimenez is ready to return to action for the Chicago White Sox
The outfielder has really made a name for himself the past two seasons. In 2019, Jimenez was in the AL Rookie of the Year conversation after he belted 31 homers and recorded 79 RBI. During the shortened 60-game season last year, Jimenez hit 14 dingers and added 41 RBI.
He entered 2021 with huge expectations for year No. 3 in the bigs, but his pectoral injury put a delay on things, as he needed to undergo surgery. Now, though, Jimenez is back to full health and is ready to deliver for his club.
Things have been going great for the White Sox, as they’re 58-40 and in first place of the AL Central standings. Chicago has an 8.5-game lead over the Cleveland Indians. While there’s been plenty of drama and negative injury news for the White Sox, they’ve been able to ride the storm. With Jimenez ready to return to the lineup too, the offense is about to get even more dangerous.
