The Field of Dreams game will reportedly return next season, with the Chicago Cubs taking on the Cincinnati Reds.

The Field of Dreams game featuring the Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees was a massive success. The production and look of the regular-season matchup was top-notch, while the game featured a Hollywood ending in the form of Tim Anderson’s walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning. As it turns out, there will be a sequel game.

According to Gordon Wittenmyer of NBC Sports Chicago, next year’s Field of Dreams game will see the Chicago Cubs take on the rival Cincinnati Reds.

Wittenmyer notes that while there are “a few legal details left to iron out,” the plan is for both teams to play in Dyersville, Iowa on Thursday, Aug. 11, take the Friday off and play the final two games of the series at Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati.

The Field of Dreams game this season was a huge success, as it was the most watched regular-season game MLB had since 2005 with 5.9 million viewers. The game opened up with the film’s star, Kevin Costner, walking onto the field, with members of the Yankees and White Sox emerging from the corn. Speaking of corn, there were eight home runs hit into the stalks in the outfield on that night.

As of this writing, the Reds (64-55) are currently 2.5 games behind the San Diego Padres for the second NL Wild Card spot. Meanwhile, the Cubs are weeks removed from their trade deadline blowup, as they moved stars Anthony Rizzo, Javier Baez, Craig Kimbrel and Kris Bryant to new teams.

Regardless of how the rosters on both teams look, MLB built the Field of Dreams stadium, and viewers will come to watch it in droves once again.
