St. Louis Cardinals star Nolan Arenado left Wednesday’s game with a back injury and concern has definitely arrived for the club.
With the postseason right around the corner, the St. Louis Cardinals (knock on wood) appear to be heading in thanks to one of the NL Wild Card spots. However, there’s some injury concern for the team regarding the one and only Nolan Arenado.
On Wednesday night, Arenado left the game early due to some clear discomfort. It’s since been announced that Arenado is dealing with lower back tightness and he’s been ruled out for the rest of the showdown with the Milwaukee Brewers.
A back injury for Nolan Arenado is not what the Cardinals want to deal with right now
Arenado is no doubt one of the best third baseman in the game. He’s in the middle of a solid season for St. Louis, as the man operating the hot corner has belted 33 homers and 101 RBI. Arenado is also in his first year with St. Louis after an incredible career with the Colorado Rockies.
As soon as St. Louis traded for him, fans started dreaming of a potential return trip to the World Series. The Cardinals haven’t won it all since the 2011 campaign. They’ve got 11 titles to their name.
For now, the only update on Arenado is that he’s dealing with his back tightness. Obviously, countless Cardinals fans will hope that there’s nothing worse going on and Arenado won’t have to miss significant time.
If he does end up missing action, it will surely be awful news for St. Louis as a whole. They need Arenado in the field and at the dish recording big hits if they want to go on a postseason run this fall.
