With the Chicago White Sox and Houston Astros set to meet in the ALDS, Lance Lynn will start Game 1 for the AL Central side.
There’s no question that one of the more intriguing matchups to open the postseason is the one between the Chicago White Sox and Houston Astros. Leading up to the first pitch, Tony La Russa is ready to have Lance Lynn get things going on the right foot.
On Wednesday, the veteran skipper made it official, announcing Lynn as his Game 1 starter to try and silence the mighty Houston lineup. Will Lynn be able to deliver for his team?
The White Sox will need to get creative with their rotation going up against Houston
With Lynn getting the nod on Thursday, La Russa will give Lucas Giolito the ball for a Game 2 start. After that, how will La Russa follow things up? That’s a bit up in the air right now and nothing has been finalized.
With that said, Dylan Cease could potentially get the start for Game 3. What about Game 4? Well, that’s also unknown, but La Russa did make it clear that he has no problems with his guys going on short rest against Houston. With that said, we very well may end up seeing Lynn take the hill for Game 4.
While Lynn could go in Game 4 if needed, La Russa also has Dallas Keuchel available and of course Carlos Rodon. Chicago had been worried about Rodon’s arm and shoulder fatigue, but the club is optimistic that he’ll be able to make a difference in the postseason.
Chicago will surely have its hands full trying to eliminate the Astros, but this team is ready for the challenge. Things will all get started on Thursday, and Lynn will look to record a win in impressive fashion.
