Braves catcher Travis d’Arnaud smacked a home run in Game 3 of the World Series with an assist from teammate Joc Pederson.
The Atlanta Braves were a team united in Game 3 of the World Series on Friday night.
The pitching staff came together to go seven innings without giving up a hit, finishing with a shutout.
The team theme was also visible at the plate. After all, Travis d’Arnaud hit his eighth-inning home run with Joc Pederson’s help.
Travis d’Arnaud hit a home run with Joc Pederson’s bat
d’Arnaud was actually using Pederson’s bat the whole night, including the at-bat that ended with the ball over the wall.
As they say, sharing is caring. Pederson’s bat worked out great for the catcher. He would know the power of a different bat. He’s been using the bat of former Cubs teammate Anthony Rizzo.
Pederson himself didn’t get the chance to impact the game on Friday. He wasn’t in the lineup, but he was still out there celebrating the victory as hard as any of his teammates once the Braves locked in their 2-0 win.
Atlanta is now ahead 2-1 with two more games to go at Truist Park. If the atmosphere is anything like it was in Game 3, they’ll continue to have that home-field edge. There’s still a long way to go in this series so keep an eye out for which bat d’Arnaud turns to next game.
