After signing his monster three-year deal with the Chicago Cubs, Marcus Stroman is wasting no time helping his team in the recruiting department.

Just because the Chicago Cubs dropped more than $70 million on Marcus Stroman, don’t think for a second that the front office isn’t done making big moves. Could they go out and sign star shortstop Carlos Correa to a mega-deal?

If it were up to Stroman, he’d no question want the team to go out and land him. As soon as the righty found out that the Cubs were interested in Correa, Stroman wasted no time in shooting his shot on Twitter.

Marcus Stroman recruiting Carlos Correa to the Chicago Cubs is awesome

Stroman hasn’t even pitched in a game for the Cubs yet and already he’s winning over countless fans. That will happen when you help out the team in trying to land one of the best free agents out there.

With Chicago eyeing Correa in free agency, the Cubs would need to put a big-time offer on the table. According to insider Mark Berman, the Houston Astros offered Correa a five-year contract worth $160 million. If Chicago wants to turn Correa’s head, they’d be wise to put something north of $200 million in front of him in the near future.

With that said, there are several other clubs who are in this race. Correa has long been wanting a new contract, and his comments throughout 2021 made it seem like he was frustrated with the discussions between him and the Houston front office.

Luckily for Chicago, they’ve got a personable guy like Stroman in their corner ready to help out with discussions. With there being some excitement around Wrigley Field too, Correa may decide he wants to join in on the fun himself.
