Former Chicago White Sox standout Juan Uribe is hoping that the club ends up signing his son to a new deal.
For Chicago White Sox fans, they most certainly haven’t forgotten about the glory days when infielder Juan Uribe used to make plays for the club. Uribe was a fan favorite during his five campaigns in the south side of the city.
With that said, could another Uribe be ready to ball out for the White Sox as well? Uribe’s son is a rising international prospect and multiple teams have shown interest. If you ask Uribe about things, though, he wants the White Sox front office to be the one the family finalizes a deal with.
Juan Uribe is hopeful his son ends up signing with the Chicago White Sox
Those are some powerful words from the elder Uribe, as he indeed wants his boy Juan Uribe Jr. to put on the same jersey he used to. Chicago will always hold a special place for Uribe, as not only did he spend the five memorable seasons there, but that’s where his son was born and raised.
While he also played for the Rockies, Giants, Dodgers, Braves, Mets and Indians, Uribe has made it quite clear that the White Sox are the top priority here. The younger Uribe is a shortstop just like his old man.
It’s up in the air of Chicago will make a move here, but the team’s supporters surely wouldn’t complain one bit if a contract offer is extended and signed. Uribe would love nothing more than to see his son put the pen to paper as well. We’ll have to wait and see if things get done, but this would surely be an intriguing story.
